Chinese phone maker Vivo has sent out early invites for a launch event planned for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020.
Barcelona-based MWC is a major tech event where phone manufacturers
typically unveil big products and show off future technologies. Vivo
normally doesn’t attend this event, and their sudden appearance likely
means that a new premium Vivo phone is coming.
The invite confirms that Vivo will show up at the venue on February
23, 2020, at 17:00 CET (9:00 PM Pakistan), but it doesn’t share any
details on what to expect. Vivo is likely going to reveal its first
foldable smartphone, as that is what everyone else is slowly shifting
over to.
On the other hand, it could just as well be a new flagship lineup to
compete with the top dogs, since Huawei and Samsung are also planning a
release around the same date. The fact that Vivo currently lacks variety
in flagship phones is yet another valid reason.
Keep in mind that it’s all just speculation and rumors for now and we won’t know anything for sure until the MWC.
