We’ve already gotten a look at the early renders of the Huawei Nova 6
lineup, but a new set of renders reveals the design for another Nova 6
variant – the Nova 6 SE. The leak shows that the upcoming Huawei Nova 6
SE will feature a camera design inspired by Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro. Aside
from the renders, the leak also shares a few key specifications.
Courtesy of Twitter accounts Huawei Club and Teme; you’re looking at a quad-camera setup on Huawei Nova 6 SE
– with all the camera modules identical in size. The squircle bump and
the lenses are near indistinguishable from this year’s iPhone 11 Pro,
with the only difference being an extra shooter on the back since the
iPhone 11 Pro only features a triple-camera package.
Note that you can argue in Huawei’s favor because many enthusiasts claim that iPhone 11 Pro’s camera housing drew inspiration from last year’s Huawei Mate 20.
At any rate, the Nova 6 SE camera housing has a more symmetrical feel
to it, and the camera bump is embedded inside a back panel sporting a
pink-to-blue gradient finish.
From the looks of it, the similarities don’t just end with the camera
design. Huawei also adopted a ‘SE’ moniker for Nova 6 – one that Apple
has used for its budget-friendly smartphones in the past. That said,
this isn’t the first instance of Huawei using the ‘SE’ label because
last year’s Huawei Mate also debuted with it.
The
renders also showcase a punch-hole-style housing for the front-facing
selfie camera and a side-mounted fingerprint reader – a feature that is
expected to be part of other Nova 6 variants as well. The display is
rumored to be an LCD screen, and the fingerprint reader will double as
the power button.
The second leaked image confirms that the ‘SE’ variant will run on an
upper-mid-range Kirin 810 chipset, but it will retain the 40W
SuperCharge technology that its siblings are supposed to feature. The
rest of the details remain thin on the ground, but Huawei has announced
that it will be unveiling the Nova 6 5G on December 5, 2019.
