This past year, we’ve seen a lot of fresh camera designs on most
flagship, mid-range, and even entry-level devices to accommodate the
ever-increasing lens count. Manufacturers have come up with some
imaginative (think, circular, L-shaped, and diamond shapes) and some
not-so-imaginative solutions, but so far, the vertical-camera design has
been the most popular one. Vivo has been using this design alongside
the diamond-style optics this year. With its latest iteration –Vivo X30, Vivo has once again adopted the popular-but-bland vertical setup. Here's the official renders.
We
got a look at the first live images of the Vivo X30 yesterday. The
images were spotted on Weibo, revealing a punch-hole cutout and a
triple-camera system aligned vertically on the back. We’ve seen more and
more OEMs steadily making the shift from notched designs to either
punch-hole or pop-up modules to tuck away the front-facing selfie
camera.
Some are even experimenting with the possibility of under-the-screen
selfie cameras, but in the meantime, many flagships (and even
sub-flagships) are lopping off notches in favor of punch-holes. Pictured
below, the Vivo X30 isn’t an exception.
Not
only the official renderings confirm yesterday’s leaked live images,
but they also reveal more color variants the X30 will be debuting with.
You can pick from Mithril, Flint, and Feiyun hues, which are essentially
just silver, grey, and orange gradients at some whopping Vivo Prices.
The
primary of the three lenses is reported to be a 64-megapixel shooter,
that will be rounded off by a periscope lens, and an ultra-wide-angle
sensor. A telephoto sensor flanks this trio, which produces up to 60X
zooming, in combination with the periscope shooter.
Additional details aren’t out yet, but we know that an Exynos 980
chipset powers the X30, with support for dual-mode 5G across SA/NSA.
When launched, the Vivo X30 will be Vivo’s first true 5G flagship which
offers dual-mode 5G, since the still-recent Vivo Nex 3 5G supports only
NSA networks. Although lagging a bit behind the curve, Vivo will launch
this 5G-toting flagship on December 16th.
