The Huawei P40 series is expected to follow up after the P30 lineup
in early 2020. The successor series is rumored to bring massive
improvements in all aspects including a 120Hz display, an enormous
graphene battery with 50w fast charging, and a remarkable screen to body
ratio.
These rumors are from a fresh leak on Twitter that hints towards
several likely specifications for Huawei’s upcoming series of flagship
smartphones.
The leak details that the device will have a 6.5-inch OLED display
with 2k screen resolution, 120Hz screen refresh rate, and a whopping 98%
screen to body ratio thanks to waterfall display. The display may have a
pill-shaped dual punch-hole selfie camera.
The Kirin 990 SoC will bring flagship-grade processing power to the phone with support for 5G.
It will have a 64MP primary camera that will feature Sony’s IMX686
camera sensor. It will be accompanied by an ultrawide sensor, a
telephoto sensor, a dedicated macro camera, and a ToF lens.
The Huawei P40 smartphones will feature unique graphene batteries
with 50W fast charging that will reportedly fill the power cell in just
under 45 minutes. Graphene batteries provide phenomenal conductivity and
are extremely lightweight, but their volume is only 70% of lithium-ion
batteries.
The Huawei P40 series is expected to be uncovered sometime during
March next year, which is the same time the Huawei P30 became official
this year.
