Huawei has just announced a new 5G variant of its recently launched flagship the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. The new variant will not only be available in new colors but will also come with a total of 21 antennas.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G comes with a Kirin 990 5G SoC under the hood
like the previously launched variants. The SoC is topped with 8 GB RAM
and 128 GB of onboard storage. The SoC comes with a built-in 5G modem,
however, the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) has one small and two big
cores. These cores are overclocked when compared to the regular Kirin
990.
As far as the smartphone’s connectivity is concerned, it comes with
21 antennas as mentioned. 14 of these are for 5G connectivity which is
pretty impressive since most 5G smartphones come with 6 antennas for 5G
connectivity. Apart from this, it comes with the usual 5G / 4G / 3G / 2G
frequency bands and SA/NSA dual-mode 5G support.
Both the flagship models, Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, have been
doing pretty well in the local market. Within 5 days of the release, the
Chinese Giant had sold over a million units. According to Richard Yu,
the sales reached a rate of 100,000 sales per minute within the first
three hours of release, despite the fact that these smartphones ship
without Google services and applications support.
The new Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G variant is currently available for sale
at a $909 price tag and is being sold in two colors: Vegan Leather
Orange and Vegan Leather Forest Green.
