Weeks and weeks of leaks have painted a near-complete picture of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S11,
but the reports haven’t stopped pouring in yet. The S11 isn’t due for
launch for another three months, but we’ve already gotten a peek into
its light variant – the Galaxy S11e.
Not unlike the recent stream of 3D renders, Samsung Galaxy S11e
renders are also leaked by @OnLeaks and @Pricebaba. Pictured below,
you’re looking at a curved display that measures 6.3-inches (a step up
from the 5.8-inch flat display sitting on the S10e) and sports the
centered punch-hole-style cutout that we’ve already seen on the base S11
variant.
Compared to the screen, the camera hardware is a sizable downgrade.
Samsung lopped off the fourth and fifth camera modules, leaving the S11e
with a modest triple-camera package set up in a vertical arrangement.
However, note that the squircle housing and the design of the back
panel remains the same. The details for this hardware are thin on the
ground, but it will be a fair assumption that this budget offering won’t
debut with the 108-megapixel unit its siblings will feature.
Even though it’s still conjecture, the internals are expected to be
almost as robust as the standard variant. XDA reports that the S11e will
arrive with a 5G option bearing the model number SM-G981, but it will
be exclusive to U.S. markets.
If that turns out to be accurate, you can expect a Snapdragon 865 or
an Exynos 990 (both of which have a 5G modem baked into them) at the
heart of the Galaxy S11e. It will be powered by Android 10 with a OneUI
2.0 running on the top and at least 6 GB of memory.
It's too early to predict the Samsung Price
tag but the specs also point out the S11e to pack a 4,000 mAh battery,
expected to be an upgrade from the 3,100 mAh one on the Galaxy S10e.
Further, the renders hint at an in-display fingerprint reader, as
opposed to the side-mounted one found on the S10e. In the same vein,
unlike the S10e, the S11e won’t feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
