A few days back, Whatmobile has already reported that Vivo S1 Pro is soon to hit the Pakistani markets in December. But ahead of its local launch, the company has unveiled the device at an event in Manila. The Vivo S1 Pro (not to be confused with the S1 Pro launched in China earlier) is now available for purchase in the Philippines. While the exclusive event showcased the design and specs for the new Vivo phone in south-east Asia, Vivo fans are eagerly waiting for its launch in Pakistan.
Vivo S1 Pro Design
As per the spec sheet published on Vivo’s official website, the Vivo S1 Pro swaps out the pop-up selfie camera (which its eponymous predecessor featured) for a lackluster notch. But unlike the previous three-camera setup, the revamped S1 Pro sports a quad-camera setup housed inside a rounded-diamond style bump. This design choice will make it the third Vivo phone (the other two being Vivo S5 and Vivo V17) to bring a square-shaped rear-module that’s ‘rotated’ at a 45-degree angle. Save for this bump; the back panel remains clean since the fingerprint reader sits under the screen. The panel itself is offered in an aura-like Fancy Sky, and a muted but appealing Knight Black accented with red lines.
Vivo S1 Pro Specs
Let’s talk optics now. You’re looking at a respectable 48-megapixel primary unit that works in combination with a 108-degree 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel lens dedicated to macro shots, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The internals remain reasonably robust, but the Snapdragon 665 chipset is a downgrade from the original S1 Pro, which featured a Snapdragon 675 SoC. At any rate, this chip is rounded off by 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of native storage. As opposed to the processor, however, you get upgraded battery performance. The power cell hits a capacity of 4,500 mAh and can support up to 18W fast charging. Powering this hardware is an Android Pie (9.0)-based FunTouch OS 9.2.
As for the starting Vivo price, the latest S1 Pro is available for pre-order in the Phillippines for 16,000 pesos, which roughly comes to 49,000 PKR without taxes. Official authorities haven't announced a release date Yet for Pakistan, But our sources have confirmed that the S1 Pro is about to land in Pakistan next month, in December 2019.
