As of yet, Oppo’s popular Reno series has given us notched designs,
regular pop-up camera modules, and a more inventive shark-fin design,
but the next addition to the Reno lineup might be the first to feature a
punch-hole cut-out. We’re, of course, talking about the Oppo Reno 3, which is scheduled for launch this December.
WhatMobile
noted in an earlier post that Oppo teased Reno 3 at the launch event
for Color OS 7. Official sources claim that the ‘Pro’ variant for Reno 3
will be 5G-enabled, and now Oppo has teased us with the first promo
poster for Reno 3 Pro 5G.
While the 5G connectivity is officially confirmed for OPPO Reno 3 Pro,
a recently surfaced screenshot of Reno 3’s settings menu reveals that
it might feature dual-mode 5G as well. More to the point, the screenshot
has a little white space on the top-left corner, that hints at a
punch-hole-style design.
Aside
from the screenshot, the teaser poster mentioned above doesn’t reveal
the whole forehead of the handset, cutting off just where the purported
punch-hole would have been. It may very well be another notch-less
display with a pop-up module, but the screenshot suggests otherwise.
At
any rate, Reno 3 is expected to run on a Snapdragon 735 chipset,
rounded off with 8 GB of memory and 128 GB/256 GB of native storage. The
internals will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with support for VOOC
4.0 Flash Charge technology. Earlier leaks tip the screen to be an
AMOLED display that measures 6.5-inch and produces an FHD+ resolution at
a 90 Hz refr
Oppo reveals that the Reno 3 Pro will be the slimmest 5G-enabled
smartphone yet. As per the official sources, the phone is only 7.7 mm
thick. In comparison, the Reno 2 measured 9.5 mm, which means that Oppo
shrunk the phone down by roughly 2 mm. Rumors point to a 60-megapixel
primary rear lens and a 32-megapixel camera on the front. Although the OPPO Price tag hasn’t been officially shared, Reno 3 might retail for somewhere between $469 and $512 in China.
