Realme is all set to launch its first 5G smartphone and second true flagship – the Realme X50 5G
in China next year, but if some recent rumors hold water, the
successors to Realme C2 and Realme 5 will also be making a debut at this
launch. The purported Realme C3 and Realme 5i have already been signed
off by Singapore’s IMDA (or Infocomm Media Development Authority)
indicating that their release is close at hand.
The
listing was spotted by a Twitter account @Sudhanshu1414, who then went
on to post the listing details and the respective model numbers. Bearing
the model number RMX1941, the Realme C3 is expected to be just another
iterative upgrade over this year’s Realme C2.
And the Realme 5i is supposed to be the ‘Lite’ variant of the popular
Realme 5 lineup, so you’re looking at two more pocket-friendly offerings
from Realme.
The
spec details for both these models are thin on the ground, but we’ve
been hearing about Realme C3 since back in May when Realme C2 was first
announced. It was part of the listings mentioned above even then, but
there are no tangible details to be reported as of the time of this
writing. The predecessor featured a modest P22 chipset and a 4,000 mAh
battery, so if this is the upgrade, we expect it to be, you may be
looking at fast-charging capabilities and a beefier SoC (perhaps an
Helio P60).
RMX2030 or the Realme 5i will be the fourth addition to the Realme 5 family. The Realme 5, Realme 5s,
and Realme 5 Pro trio already present a range of price tags and
features, so it will be interesting to see the approach Realme takes
with this next Realme 5.
Note that the Realme 5i isn’ t the first ‘i’-moniker-toting Realme
phone. Earlier this year, the company launched the Realme 3i, so if
there’s no room for improvement in the Realme 5 trio, this phone might
be succeeding the Realme 3i. The launch date is only a month away, so we
should hear more details after the holidays.
