Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro Officially Revealed, The Duo Also Sighted on TENNA listings

Oppo adopted a very imaginative workaround to using a notched display for their Reno lineup, with their ‘sharkfin’ pop-up module. But it appears that we’ve seen the last of this creative approach, since the upcoming Reno iterations, Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro won’t feature the ‘shark fin.’ A teaser poster for this duo has been floating around the web already, but Oppo has now given us a peek at its official renders.

The Chinese phone-maker will be lopping off the quirky pop-up design in their latest OPPO Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro addition and will instead revert to the familiar-but-played-out waterdrop notch in the standard and punch-hole layout in the Pro variant.

From the looks of it, Reno 3 is a bit nondescript offering, but the OPPP Reno 3 Pro will support dual-mode 5G connectivity across band 41/78 SA and NSA networks.
Pictured below, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro sports a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner of its display, with nominal bezels on the front and a quad-camera setup on the back. The four lenses are arranged inside the now-commonplace vertical bump, which itself is embedded in an ‘Aura’ gradient-sporting back panel. And while Reno 3 hasn’t been officially revealed in renders on Oppo’s website yet, you can spot a generic drop-notch on one of the thumbnails.

In related news, the Reno 3 Pro 5G has popped up on TENNA’s listings, along with a handful of specs. The Reno 3 Pro, bearing the model number PCRM00/PCRT00, will pack a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that produces an FHD+ resolution. At its heart, it will feature a Snapdragon 765 5G chipset alongside 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of native storage.

Inside the camera bump, you’re looking at a 48-megapixel primary shooter, rounded off by a 13-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 2-megapixel unit -- likely to be either a depth or a macro sensor. Sitting inside the notch and punch-hole will be a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. And as per the listing, both models will feature in-display fingerprint readers.
Both Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro are expected to ship with the latest out-of-the-box Android 10, with Oppo’s Color OS 7 running on top of it. If the rumor mill is to be believed, Oppo might launch it before 2019 ends.
