Motorola One Hyper Launched; Pop-up Design and Great Camera

Motorola has been making headlines with its foldable Moto Razr, but with the launch of Motorola One Hyper, this Lenovo-subsidiary takes another leap forward. The phone brings some robust flagship features at a sub-flagship price. But on top of an impressive spec sheet, Motorola is shipping the phone with pure Android 10.

It’s no secret that if you want a flagship or even an upper-mid-range device that runs on bloat-free clean Android right out of the box, Google’s Pixel series is pretty much your only option. Almost every other major smartphone-maker ships its offerings with a custom-themed version of Android. While it’s a great feature from a purist point of view, this ambitious model has a lot more to offer.
Coming back to the Motorola One Hyper, You’re looking at an all-screen near-bezel-free design that touts a pop-up module. The pop-up camera lends the phone a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display measures 6.5 inches and produces an FHD+ resolution.
Slim form factors aren’t something Motorola is known for, and the One Hyper is no exception. But the handset does offer a water-repellent design in three different hues: Deepsea Blue, Dark Amber, and Fresh Orchid.

Now, the Motorola One Hyper may not be the thinnest smartphone out there, but it’s a powerhouse in terms of battery performance. A 4,000 mAh battery backs the internal hardware, which itself supports up to 45W fast-charging. Motorola claims that a 45W charger can charge it up to 75 percent capacity in under 30 minutes. Under the hood, it has a modest Snapdragon 675 chipset at its heart, rounded off by 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of native storage.

This year has seen almost every major smartphone release pack at least three camera modules, and now that it’s about to end, quad-camera designs have been made the standard. But Motorola deviates from the norm to opt for a more traditional twin-camera setup. That said, the dual-camera array features a 64-megapixel primary lens, paired up with a 118-degree 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. On the front, you get a 32-megapixel selfie camera housed inside the pop-up module.
As of now, the phone is only retailing in the US for 399 dollars which converts to some 62,000 Pakistani rupees. Motorola just got relaunched in Pakistan last month and has already officially announced the Moto E6 Plus and Moto One Macro. Let see if the One Hyper also makes it to the local market, anytime soon.
