An Oppo phone bearing PCPM00/PCPT00 has been spotted on TENNA’s
listings and it has also found its way on to Geekbench’s platform. The
listing dubs the model, Oppo A91
and reveals a handful of key specifications for the phone. It’s the
same phone we saw on the recently leaked promo poster. But we’ve also
got another look at the device, thanks to leaked press renders.
Pictured
below, the renders showcase a water-drop notched design A91 by Oppo,
with the spine sandwiched between two glass panels. At least that’s what
the glossy panel appears to be, but it could be polycarbonate.
On the back of the A91, you’re looking at a quad-camera setup, with a
48-megapixel primary shooter. Also, part of the camera system is an
8-megapixel wide-angle-shooter and a pair of 2-megapixel depth and macro
sensors.
TENNA’s database confirms that the new addition to the OPPO A series
is to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that produces an FHD+ resolution.
There’s no fingerprint reader to be seen, which strongly suggests the
presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor. If the rumor mill is to be
believed, it's supposed to be the same in-display fingerprint scanner
that protects the Reno 2.
The company does seem to be putting an effort to bring you these gadgets at modest of OPPO prices.
At the heart of the A91, we’ll probably get an Helio P70 chipset, but
we haven’t received a confirmation for the SoC details. At any rate, the
processor clocked at 1.99 GHz is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of
onboard storage. You can expand this storage further with a microSD
card.
The
TENNA listing doesn’t report the additional fast-charging details, but
it does reveal that a 4,025 mAh battery powers the hardware. That said,
the leaked poster shows that the phone will feature VOOC 3.0
fast-charging.
The rear panel shows off two different color variants: Black and Blue,
but the same promo poster points to a third ‘Red’ shade as well. If you
go by the spec sheet, the A91 should be an upper-mid-range device, but
this sub-flagship could have been a flagship killer if Oppo had lopped
off the obstructive notch.
