Huawei Y6s appears in first renders accompanied by another unknown Huawei smartphone

Huawei is planning on refreshing last year’s Y6 with an ‘S’ moniker, and while this purported model remains officially unannounced, a leaked Huawei Y6s render gives us a peek into what to expect from this revised entry-level offering -- at least in terms of design. In addition to this rendering, the source has also shared a yet-to-be-confirmed Huawei smartphone.

Courtesy of SlashLeaks, Huawei Y6s, bearing the codename ‘Jakarta,’ will sport a familiar but commonplace dew-drop notch. And it seemingly builds on this year’s Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) borrowing its display and single-lens camera design. The back panel shows off a now-dated duo-tone finish -- inspired from the Google Pixel, along with a single camera module that feels equally out-of-place in 2019. That said, the Y6s does have the edge over the Y6 Pro (2019) since it offers a capacitive fingerprint reader mounted on the back.
ored specs point to a 6.1-inch unknown display and a modest 3 GB + 32 GB memory configuration. Note that the details are thin on the ground, but rumors suggest that the camera will max out at an underwhelming 13 megapixels.


The second mystery phone codenamed ‘Merida’ has a more sub-flagship feel to it. But, its design is oddly similar to that of Huawei Y6s, which could mean that ‘Merida’ is a ‘Pro’ Y6s variant. You’re looking at a near-identical display and a circular drop-notch, but on the back, you get a twin-camera, set up in a vertical array. There’s no fingerprint scanner visible either, which indicates that Huawei moved it to the side next to the power button. However, it is also plausible that the fingerprint sensor now sits under the display.
We have yet to receive word on their release schedule, but the Chinese Giant is readying to launch its MatePad, MagicWatch, and V30 lineup on November 25 at so attractive Huawei Prices and the Y6s could likely be part of this launch. In the same vein, we know little of the pricing details for either of these phones, but if they hit the Chinese market by the end of November, a launch in other Asian markets, including Pakistan, won’t be far off.
