After Alpha’s launch, Xiaomi has released the first set of camera samples demonstrating how well the 108 MP camera can preserve details even after an 8x zoom. Even though the images are downscaled, they give us a pretty good idea of what to expect from Mi Mix Alpha
Thanks to the f/1.7 aperture, the sensor is able to collect as much light at night as possible even after zooming in. The pixel binning technology of the sensor combines adjacent pixels, increasing the image quality and producing 27 MP shots.
However, getting this level of camera quality will cost you a fortune. Mi Mix Alpha’s hefty price tag shows that this smartphone is just a demonstration of the technology and not meant for mass production.
