With the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in full swing, the
rumor mill has churned out some more juicy new details about upcoming
phones. This time we have info about Samsung’s heavily teased Galaxy F foldable phone.
According to a report from The Investor, a South Korean journo,
Samsung brought along the Galaxy Fold to the CES this year. They showed
off the elusive foldable phone to select partners behind closed doors
with no images or videos leaking out. However, they do have some
interesting info about Samsung’s prototype.
The phone is easily breakable in its current state. We’re not sure how
many times you can fold and unfold it before it breaks down, but Samsung
is looking to improve that. But, it seems like you can’t fully fold the
phone in half, otherwise, it would break.
The next bit of news is that Samsung has confirmed the launch window for
the foldable phone. According to DigitalTrends, Samsung’s Director of
Product Strategy and Marketing Suzanne de Silva told them that the phone
will hit the markets in the first half of 2019. She didn’t mention a
specific launch date but said that it will use the same Infinity Flex
screen that Samsung showed off at the Developer Conference in November
2018. She added,
They haven’t finalized the name for it yet, it could very well be Galaxy
Fold or Galaxy Flex. As for its price, rumors say that it will be
somewhere between $1,500 and $2,000.
